HOMELAND SECURITY VISITS SECTOR LA-LB

Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, visited the Port of Los Angeles and Sector LA-LB Monday April 13 to meet with local officials and address the media. You are wrong. What you are doing is saving lives; doing boat checks, fixing engines and painting are the ways that you do it.

It's not only the asset that arrives on scene, but everything and everyone that got it there that saves lives. "

Even if sometimes all someone wants is a PUMP.

SHAVE YOUR HEAD FOR A GREAT CAUSE!

St. Baldrick's is the world's largest volunteer-driven fund raising event for childhood cancer research. Thousands of volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family.

The St. Baldrick's organization has asked The Coast Guard Station to participate in their event again this year by raising money (on-line) and by attending the event and having our heads shaved. The contributions and head-shaving participation support childhood cancer research. Let's be sure to do all that we can to help raise money for this very worthy cause.

Please note that this is a family event and ALL are welcome to attend.

2. Once on the team page, click on "Be a Shavee", which will take you to a Registration Page
3. Complete the Registration Form and information
a. Make sure you find and select the Ventura Event at the Four Points Sheraton
b. On the Registration Type, click "Join a Team"
c. Make sure the UCSG Channel Islands Harbor team is selected
d. Select your t-shirt size, fund raising goal, and acknowledge the Waiver and Razor policies.

You can create your own Individual Page under the Team Coast Guard page you can copy/paste the link to your personal page in an e-mail and send it to all your friends and family. Let them know what you're doing and asking for their support in donations. Donations can be made on-line.

We had a pretty great turn out last year for this event. Let's make this year outstanding!!!

Captain Weidenhoeft

On January 15th, Capt. Weidenhoeft, CO, Sector LA/LB visited the station to accompany ANT LA/LB to do maintenance on Anacapa Light. He was accompanied by his wife and two teenage children, and Capt. Caplis, his deputy commander.

Lighted Driving Range: Mon; 8 am-9 pm /Tue-Sat; 6 am-9pm / Sun; 6 am-4 pm

Active Duty military personnel, military retirees, and their family members may make tee time reservations up to eight days in advance. All other authorized base personnel may make tee times up to seven days in advance. Members of the general public may make tee times up to six days in advance.

Pro Shop: Daily; 6 am-5 pm.
Custom Club fitting and Demo Day every Saturday 10 am - 1 pm

Restaurant: 7 days a week, 6 am - dusk
Phone in your orders from the golf course and it will be ready at the 9th hole snack bar. Beverage Cart service available.

The challenging, 18 hole Seabee Golf Course at Port Hueneme features a lighted driving range, practice putting green, five water hazards and a complete Pro Shop. The new Clubhouse provides a casual place to relax for golfers and non-golfers. There is an indoor and patio dining and a lounge. Golfers can enjoy the men's and women's locker rooms and the meeting rooms. Enjoy shopping from our wide selection of golfing equipment and apparel for both men and women in the pro shop. Golf clubs and cart rental, club storage, lessons and punch cards are also available. A soft spike only facility.
